I actually copied and pasted that from your wise words… nicely put. You nailed my message, you are basically diversifying your sources, excellent way, and to asure you, it is my only way. I have nothing to add to your wonderful injection of wisdom, keep it up.

As for the debate between two total diverse people, that’s not what I meant, i mean to say if you have nothing to say or know in the other things that surround and challenge are existence? how can you keep up with an informed person? it will eventually end. It is like when we meet an intellect and want to suck him dry for what he knows, over the longest possible time possible to both people, well people always like to be with a better person if they want to excel, besides envious ones. So in the end, like that little child befriending a 2 year older child for the fascination of being with an older person…its all good!

How many of us watch Arabic shows (Egyptian series, gulf series …). Would you watch just anything for the sake of being versatile, or would you elect what suits you the best? What about those folks with 0 watching rate?

The way I see it: information , topics and influence is gained from >> media (regardless of its form: printed as books or newspapers / internet …..), friends and experiences. So if I only watched comic series on the sliver screen , get my news share from a newspaper, documentaries from the internet , technicality from books and cultural issues from friends ,I would still be current & exposed.

But I agree with you that “Having a diverse sense of program/movie watching will widen ones scope” my only argument that the relation is not exclusive to TV.

Ummmmmmmm; Why do you think that a dialogue can not be carried between 2 extremely opposite individuals? Due to the hug gaps between generations in our society, we seem to challenge difference everyday. I witnessed my grandma having a very fruitful conversation with my little cousin about a wii game and they both enjoyed it. I have got to say it is all about the well (we have got to put our diffrnecs aside and try to find a common ground).

But I strongly agree with you “we should keep a close monitoring on what we watch”. Especially with the kids as their brains absorbs & they mimic every little thing they see (how I like the PG rating on western channels). I know that watching TV is 4 fun on our idle time, but we still should not just waste it on anything.
