What to expect on you’re first 90 days at work in a Bank

So you made it past the gates of hell. You finally passed that idiot at the branch that gave you a hard time in the interview and asked you about your girlfriends and social life, how much money can you get the Bank in 30 days and all the other screening techniques banks use.

It’s now or never. You can be anybody and become somebody. You have a chance that another 10,000 did not get, always remember that!

You have actually made it this far.

Well done! Now that was the easy part.

Please note the following things that you will face and pay close attention;

You are being;

• Monitored from close and far.
• Looked upon as another passerby until you prove otherwise.
• Considered a liability.
• Pushed to the limits.
• Overworked and under managed, over stressed and unappreciated.
• Considered another brick in the wall.
• Made the joke of the branch or department.
• Sent to do the laundry of the manager (in the stupid name of “breaking his pride”)
• Sent to the municipality to finish your managers building permits (in the name of “networking”)
• Staying overtime with no link to pay on a weekend in the name of (hard work)
• Sent to get sandwiches for the group at breakfast (in the name of Teamwork)
• Sent to deliver the managers car in the name of (you would love that)
• Praised behind your back never in your face when doing a good job.
• Tested in moral issues like passwords and similar security issues.
• Tested in handling the opposite sex.
• Tested in answering the phone even when you have 2 other calls and 2 customers.
• Tested in how fast you complete the documents at hand.
• Checked for a bad dress day or not arriving in professional dress code.
• Checked for your communication and usage of language and those loose slang words.
• Checked for timing on all shifts, be there 30 minutes even if you have to wait outside. And when you leave, stay for another 30 minutes. Forget your social life for a while; trust me you, will get it back and it will be much better.
• Checked for your mood swings and those special monthly periods.
• Watched outside the bank. You no longer have a free spirit life, everything counts!
• Watched for your spending patterns.
• Watched for how you walk and talk and handle yourself in public.
• Watched with a bird’s eye on your networking skills and follow through.
• Checked on how many new customers came through you even if you don’t know how.

I guess by now you know how serious and if you want to continue to become a banker.number 90
