What 2 do when you don’t know what 2 do

mindmap

In our daily lives we face things that we know how to handle, out of experience and things that we have no clue about. Trial & error are many peoples first actions, they tend to try out something, if it works, great, if it doesn’t then try something else, or give up!

Do not give up!. To know what to do with things that are unfamiliar to you like serious decisions, work decisions, family, friends, life in general, even love relationships. In an easy step by step process anyone who is anyone on any level in life can take advantage of this decision method. here is what you should do and what will be happening:

1- Take a blank piece of paper, write the subject in the middle and draw a circle around it.

2- Now I want you to start drawing lines out of the circle one thing you know about the subject. For example, if I was deciding to buy a car, CAR would be in the middle, then I would draw a line and write PRICE RANGE and draw circle around that. Then I would draw a line and write TYPE: SPORT/SUV/4DOOR? and so on.

3- When you are done you should have at least 20 branches and extensions from branches. Yes, you have just drawn a Mindmap.

4- Now what you do is start to look at this Mindmap and start to look for connections in items written down. From doing this you start to envision the situation in one piece of paper. Imagine, the problem you were facing was swimming all over your head( as if you need that now!) and now you have it all in front of your eyes.

5- You will feel relieved. A journey of a 1000 miles start’s with one step.

6- You will start to feel in control now, you have a grasp and solid idea of all the contents of the situation and now you want to decide.

7- If you want to memorize this frame( the mindmap) draw little drawings of things that relate to each balloon you drew.

8- You can now only include those solutions that fit your requirements.

9- Now take another piece of paper and place your findings on it.

10- Filter the findings based upon your top 3 selections, then only 2.

11- One more paper( sorry for wasting your paper, I always like fresh clean white copy paper) draw a line down the middle and place each person/car/home/idea/watch/animal/computer/job/decision anything one each sides of the paper.

12- Start writing what you like about each item under it, don’t stop till you have put everything down on paper.

13- Now repeat with everything you hate under each item.

14- By now you should have got a MIND idea and not a HEART decision.

15- Now you have the answer, you decide how much heart you want to add to your final outcome.

Usually people will ask me how, and then say that will work with tangible things like cars and houses but not with love and breakups? It does. But its how much you want that intangible that affects your decisions….that’s another story!

Try it and let me know, I can help you with more resources and techniques.

Hope you make that decision soon :-)

A journey of thousands miles starts with a step.So yes, having a visual map about the crossroads would make things easier.
