The power of Applause

clapping

The applause I am referring to is the clapping of ones hands. If you ever went to theatre or play, you can really see the power of an applause. If you were ever one of the staff listening while a senior has pointed out changes that you like, you seem to automatically just clap your hands. If the stage scene and play is really bad people tend to just clap one or two claps in a very slow way and there would be only 10 people in a crowd of 300 clapping, ending the history of that play or movie.

Clapping has been around for many centuries. Once these hands of ours were made to signal to each other, maybe the first form of communication between mankind. They were also made to defend, cut, hold, break…you know. i can imagine going to Italy (a country which uses its hands massively in daily interactions, no I don’t mean the bad words) and not have a clue of the language, It would all be in hands. So, we all clap our hands.

Some clap at music, some clap at maids, some still clap at waiters in Europe and get slapped. The clapping or applause has many features to it:

  • It is contagious, one person starts it and the rest follow.
  • It is emotional.
  • It is done on may levels: Soft, medium, Hard.
  • It can reward.
  • It can punish.

Applause is a universal language that everyone on earth understands. I can see that English is the most commonly used language in the world today and for many years gone. No, you can’t say chinese because the have over a Billion citizens. Applause beats that.

What else has the power of this simple mode of communication? What is the written version of it? Is it the LOL? or is it something far more powerful?

The beauty of the applause is the ease and auto release our mind send to our hands. How many things go unnoticed on our daily lives with the power of a clap? and what if we could harness such powers? what if we could come up with an international language based on applausefrom within us?

Just an Idea I had. Now give your self a big round of applause fro being a great YOU!
