The missing link
You run and you run some more, you stop and you think, then you start running again, rain or sun, wind or droughts, you still run, till you can’t run no more.
In every encounter we seek happiness, no ones wants misery. We fall into another’s arms, while the heat of the last still makes us warm. They call them players, yet no one really knows them. They are loving, understanding individuals seeking the missing link.
She comes into my life insisting she is the one and not the last, she calls me baby, a name I got accustomed to, she falls in love with me, I fall back. Am I missing something here? was it my last, the one before that or this one? she answers with total belief and confidence, it is me.
I recall the very same conversations, the same changes, the same feelings yet with another. She does make me feel special, she does make me feel loved, she does have the midas touch, but what’s missing?
Every man or woman alive falls prey to the missing link syndrome, you might know it and you might never know. He understands that she loves him, but isn’t it a two way street, a give and take, a fill in the space kind of relationship? Why do we miss some people and never seem to remember the others, even if they are by our side?
The heat is on, one more time, he plays she plays back, he retreats she attacks, he confronts, she hides, they seem to be in a lovable never ending study of one another’s likes and dislikes, changing and morphing into someone else, for the sake of someone else. In the end, what’s real is real, and when you start to peel, you get a feel of that missing thing I’m talking about.
Some things just seem to fall into place, while other things drift apart. Stay aware of what it is you miss, never underestimate the power of signs and feelings, for they are the true and only thing that matter in the long run. Don’t fall prey to forceful feelings, let the rhythm take you, let it guide you to the next tune, if it sounds right you have a winner, if not don’t stop your pursuit irrelevant of what people say or think, we are talking about the most important person in the world you know:YOU!
I never let the forces take control of me, I never let you near the real deal unless you are worthy, next time you feel me drift away, its not you or the stupid things you do, its not you or your crew, its not you or what you think makes me tick, its not what you ever did or will do with me, its never gonna be you unless I find that missing link….

Mysterious Missing link…where r u ?
A whimsical piece of writing which I enjoyed reading again, and again. I particularly liked your manipulation, on your words of choice and questions asked, in this one.
