I always seem to check a persons top 25 songs to get a feel of this person. The idea first occurred to me when i was shocked sometime back with my most played song, never cared for the rest. It is so funny to think you know your favorite song and find its actually not even on your top 25 songs in the last year or more.. I know we tend to sometimes reset our lists with new ones, but it still means something.
What I am going to do today is take myself as a specimen and invite each one of you to check his top list and see what kind of information you can pull from it. You don’t need a marketing agency to tell you what you like, its right there in the palms of your hand, and it won’t break the Bank. I have my home and travel ipod and I have my gym nano or whatever they call it( that’s full of hard beat stuff that lifts you, and not classical music). The list comes from my main one, the itouch.
1-Closer Ne-Yo Year Of The Gentleman
2-Happy Dreamer Laid Back Buddha-Bar
3-Take Me Away John Legend
4-Turn off the Lights Nelly Furtado

We tend to smoothly move from mood to mood in a non undetectable fashion by the music that soothes us or raises us to the next level.
I had to strip the songs and see what they meant for me,and here is what i think:
The top 5:
Having “Closer” as my #1 I guess it had to do with the thrilling beat that gives a sensational effect and talks about an unknown love affair in the making, and that she wants to own me,control me… hmmm. My eyes lit up with joy on my #2 song “Happy Dreamer” I guess that is what I am, its the translating I’m working on. Such a great uplifting sweet tune and words, when Im feeling down this song seems to pick me up, that spells me being down, or thinking about something big, true. I also get this feeling when I am making serious changes in my life pattern, I simply love it( I am listening to it now!). “Take me away” need I say more. “Turn off the lights”
well, let’s just say that’s when I’m in play mode
.
That #5 song just took me off my feet when i first heard it on some music channel, I knew it was destined to be great. It has those mixed ingredients of wow! words, meaning, beats, the works, “ nothing ever hurt like you” I actually have not felt that wicked feeling yet! Don’t know if I’m lucky or am missing some special love bruise.
Songs 6-10:
Now when It comes to Amy Winehouse, my list has about 45% of the songs thats 9 songs! Why? she has amazing talent, as if she never rehearsed in her life, a born genius. I heard she’s 21 or 22. She speaks her mind, something I love. Love is a losing game, has a great tune and powerful romantic wisdom.” Played out by the band, love is a losing hand!, more than I could stand”. Funny I don’t listen to her anymore?
As the list moves down you find more house music tracks, I do have a sense for great hits, not really updated, I guess you can call them classics.
At number 10 comes “Lazy” I know I am, but I have to remind myself when Im working to ease off and kick back, sometimes too long, but I love the feeling. If only you could be that all your life, and realize your dreams, that is my dream!… does that make any sense? who said I wanted to in the first place, I was being lazy.
Songs 11-25:
Natasha say’s she has a bucket full of sunshine and she wants me to take her to a better place. I love every single word in this masterpiece pick me up kind of tune.
#22 was my guess to be my #1 I guess I heard too much to the point I lost interest in the feeling it gives me, basically taking it for granted. My last song on the list is always gonna be there I guess, reminds me of my teen days, An I love Cali.
There you have it a snapshot of my life, all caught on mp3.
So what’s your list, do you dare check?

Mine is quite of a discovery, I always knew that I am into pop, boybands and my passion for Bryan Adams songs (he always gets me in a dancing mood).
